In order to comfort the patient and give him the best possible service, the hospital administration has worked to define some rights and duties that the patient and his family must abide by.
Patient rights are as follows:
- Receive care without discrimination in race, gender, nationality, age, or religious or political beliefs. In a way that preserves the patient's dignity and respects his cultural, social and religious values.
- Obtaining the necessary information related to the patient's medical problems while giving the utmost care, privacy and attention.
- The freedom of the patient to choose his treating doctor, without commitment to the attending physician. On a condition that the name of this doctor is included in the list of doctors working for the hospital.
- Giving the patient complete information regarding the treatment and the expected benefits in addition to alternative treatment methods, along with an explanation of the expected symptoms and symptomatic effects (with the approval of the attending physician).
- The patient's right to refuse treatment in proportion to what is permitted by law, provided that he is aware of the medical consequences of such refusal, and signing a document that removes the responsibility of the doctor and hospital for refusing treatment.
- Obtaining privacy related to illness and treatment.
- Keep the patient's medical file secret "while preserving the right to obtain a medical report and a copy of the file in order to keep it or transfer it to another doctor after the approval of his attending physician.
- Leaving the hospital against the will and the opinion of the attending physician, after signing a document in this regard that removes the responsibility of the physician and the hospital for any resulting damage.
- The patient has the right to get acquainted with the room and to have all the information related to how to use the devices in it (the bell, the TV, the air conditioner ...).
- Receiving visitors according to the hospital visitation system.
- The hospital is not responsible for losing money or any other properties unless it is placed in the preserving department.
- Notify the nurse in charge of the department about any objection, problem or complaint faced by the patient during his stay in the hospital, either orally or by writing it on a complaints form.
- Receive appropriate instructions for his condition by the doctor or nurse upon leaving the hospital.
- The patient has the right to ask for help every time it is needed.
Patient duties are as follows:
- Delivering all the medicines in his possession to the nurse in charge of the department, unless another order is given by the attending physician.
- Inform the nurse in charge of the department about the presence of contact lenses, glasses or artificial teeth, with the need to remove them if necessary.
- Remove makeup, nail polish and jewelry.
- Provide complete and accurate information about the symptoms he complains about and previous cases related to his health.
- Follow the prescribed treatment and adhere to the times of this treatment, as the patient will bear full responsibility for the medical consequences when he refuses the prescribed treatment and does not follow the doctor's instructions.
- Visitors are not allowed to sit in the patient's bed.
- Do not bring any food to the patient.
- Children under the age of thirteen are prohibited from visiting the hospital.
- One relative is allowed to stay overnight at the patient's side if needed, or if there is a request from the doctor and approval from the administration, outside the intensive care units.
- Exit papers must be completed before 1:00 pm
