Our History

Under the patronage of the President of the Lebanese Republic, Mr. Elias Al-Hrawi, a cornerstone was laid for the construction of the Hopital Libano-Français on October 2, 1993. It was not until July 18,1996 when the inauguration took place in the presence of Mr. Al-Hrawi accompanied by the French ambassador to Lebanon, as well as the health and agriculture ministers, and international and local personalities with a large gathering of invitees and people.

In 2000, Mr. Salim Assi purchased the hospital with a dream of contributing to the medical development in the Bekaa region and Lebanon. Under his leadership, HLF has evolved into one of the leading healthcare providers in the region.

The increased demand for our premium healthcare led to an expansion project being launched in 2014 which included the addition of two floors to the current infrastructure and the construction of a new building which increased the hospital's capacity from 85 to 132 beds. In addition to the increase in number of beds, the expansion has added high-tech operating rooms as well as it's launched new medical centers which aim to serve our patients to the best of our abilities.
